Christmas walk in Athens


 

Just a few days before Christmas and the sunny weather is ideal for a walk in the center of Athens that will make you feel the Christmas spirit in the air!

Start your day visiting the National Gardens, transformed these days into a fantasy scenery, with small wooden houses, where children will participate in interactive educational activities: At the Green Fantasia children will be informed about the ecological issues of the world and, through interactive games, will be trained to deal with them. At the Fantasy Workshop children can learn to create Christmas hats, while at the Christmas Tales area, an educator will tell Christmas stories from all around the world. Children can write their wishes on colorful ornaments and hang them on real trees outside the area of Fantastic Wishes.
The National Gardens will be open from December 20th,  till January 6th,  (10.00 hours to 17.00) with free entrance.

Cross the Syntagma square to see the Christmas tree, then walk down Ermou street, the shopping centre in Athens, for your last Christmas shopping.

Next station is Kotzia square, where you can uncover your skating talent in the ice skating arena open for all ages free of charge!

For those who prefer Christmas by the sea, take the tram train to the Flisvos Marina. Enjoy your day walking around the beautiful Christmas scene, complete with a magical playground, puppet show, the Wise Men, an ice skating arena and lots of restaurants and cafes to relax!
